OWTNM26 will take place on the campus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).
Lausanne is well-connected by train to many European cities: Milano (3.5 hours), Paris (4 hours), Marseille (5 hours) Frankfurt (5.5 hours), Brussels (6 hours), London (7.5 hours), Vienna (10.5 hours), Berlin (11 hours), Hamburg (12 hours), Madrid (13 hours). Lausanne is a short train ride (40 min.) from Geneva airport, which is a major Easyjet hub with over 77 destinations, as well as 51 other airlines, includint Swiss. The next airport is Zurich, which is 2.5 hours by train from Lausanne.
Reaching EPFL
The EPFL campus is connected to the city by the M1 Subway, which has two end stations: Flon in dowtown Lausanne, or Renens. Flon is a short subway train ride away (M2 line, 1 stop) from Lausanne railway station; Renens is another major stop on many train lines from Geneva airport, Zurich and Bern.
To find when is the next connexion to the EPFL campus, you can use the Swiss Railway Website and use “Ecublens VD, EPFL” as destination. To get the schedule form downtown Lausanne use “Lausanne, Flon” as starting point.
Note that in principle every hotel in Lausanne should provide you with a free public transport ticket for the duration of your stay.

Workshop venue
The workshop takes place in the lecture theatre ELA-1 in the electrical engineeging buldings. Follow this link and zoom-out to orient yourself.
Briefly:
- Leave the Metro station EPFL and take the underpassage towards the south (i.e. walk in the same direction as your train if you come from Flon and take the stairs down, or walk in the opposite direction as your train if you come from Renens and take the ramp down)
- On the other side of the underpassage, take the monumental stairs up
- Walk toward the south along the BM building (where the EPFL center for micro- and nanotechnology is located)
- Aim slightly towards the right to reach the EL building;
- Enter the building marked ELA1 in red, you’ve reach the venue!
